Socrates (Kyoto) - 29 November 2009

Socrates is cool. The guy with the green shirt and bleached afro was the sound guy. He spent the night wearing geta whilst dancing like a child and throwing fire crackers into the crowd.

These two photos were taken by Taka who played bass with Psychedelic Desert on this night. He releases music under the name Hakobune.

Ultra Bide (above) have released three albums on the Alternative Tentacles record label. Hide now records and releases everything on his own. His "Fake River Studio" is a room in his parent's house. He plays in seven bands, based in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo. He lives for the "international cultural exchange." I greatly admire him and his lifestyle.

These photos were taken at Lush in Shibuya (not the cosmetics store). A band called Heartland also played that night. They are much better than me. They look like this:

In the audience that night was a "very famous Japanese Porn Star." I was only convinced when Jun (above photo; on left) showed me the pictures he had on his mobile phone.

I prefer girls inflating massive balloons beneath their clothing but Jun didn't have any of those on his phone. I was excited to meet her anyway. Here is the only photo of our conversation:
